چکیده

Resource allocation is studied for a forwardlink two-cell Code-Division Multiple-Access (CDMA) voice network with multiple service classes. System resources are transmitted power and codes. The service classes are specified by different user utility functions that relate utility to received Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise-Ratio (SINR). The objective of the resource allocation is to maximize total utility over the two cells. The optimal power allocation is characterized by a set of distances, or radii, from the desired base station. Each radius corresponds to the set of active users in a particular service class, and can be enforced through a pricing scheme. We also consider setting prices to maximize revenue. In general, the prices and power allocation that maximize revenue differ from those that maximize utility.

A heuristic method for consumable resource allocation in multi-class dynamic PERT networks

This investigation presents a heuristic method for consumable resource allocation problem in multi-class dynamic Project Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) networks, where new projects from different classes (types) arrive to system according to independent Poisson processes with different arrival rates. Each activity of any project is operated at a devoted service station located in a n...

Resource allocation for heterogeneous wireless networks

Demand for high volumes of mobile data traffic with better quality-of-service (QoS) support and seamless network coverage is ever increasing, due to growth of the number of smart mobile devices and the applications that run on these devices. Also, most of these high volumes of data traffic demanding areas are covered by heterogeneous wireless networks, such as cellular networks and wireless loc...

Revenue-aware Resource Allocation Scheme in Multiservice IP Networks

In the future IP networks, a wide range of different service classes must be supported and different classes of customers will pay different prices for their used network resources based on Service-Level-Agreements. In this paper, we link resource allocation scheme with pricing strategies and explore the problem of maximizing the revenue of network providers by resource allocation among multipl...

Utility-based resource allocation for wireless networks with mixed voice and data services

Power allocation across users in two adjacent cells is studied for a wireless Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) network with mixed voice and data services. We assume that each user has a utility function that measures the user’s satisfaction, or utility, as a function of the received Signal-to-Interference-plusNoise-Ratio (SINR). Each particular service (voice or data) is associated with a d...

Resource allocation for multiple classes of DS-CDMA traffic

We consider a packet data direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS-CDMA) system which supports integrated services. The services are partitioned into different traffic classes according to information rate (bandwidth) and quality of service (QoS) requirements. Given sufficient bandwidth, QoS requirements can be satisfied by an appropriate assignment of transmitted power and processing ...
